Originally from Brazil, this striking actress has created such an incredible reputation for herself that she has become a go to lead for many casting directors in Hollywood. Colturato has starred in countless suspense films including Mao Winters P.I., Once More, and Anton all of which serve as a testament to her capacity for playing roles interwoven with thrills and mystery.
In the fantasy film Living in Berlinda, written and directed by Lunnara Luza, Colturato stunned audiences with her performance in the role of Michel, a writer struggling to break a lengthy bout of writer's block. Adding to the tension, Michel is given only a few hours to break the mentally strenuous block if she wants to keep her job, a task she achieves by the simple act of taking a nap. Through a deep therapeutic sleep, Colturato's character Michel unveils a world of inspiration that fuels her imagination with the power of her subconscious.
"To play Michel, the biggest challenge for me was to accept the state of writer’s block that she has in the beginning of the movie. As an actress I’ve already faced situations very similar to that one. Sometimes I forget I am not a robot and as a human being I have to accept that the creativity will run away for a while, but it’ll come back at the right time. Overall it was a great experience being able to go into that magical world where the imagination has no limits," said Colturato.
The film Living in Berlinda comes as a beautiful display of how it takes the ability to think outside of the box in order to be successful in any art form with the beautiful Marilia Colturato leading audiences on a fantastic journey through the struggles of being a writer and the solutions that lay within oneself.
A genre which requires an actor who is able to commingle subtlety and anticipation in the face of a story's building tension, Colturato's talent for playing dynamic characters within the mystery genre is second to none.
